Solidmind
Solidmind for students

Ace the exam you're studying for.

You sat down to study. Solidmind makes sure you actually do — your study workspace carries its own off-limits list, and for the length of the session those sites are softly blurred, not one click away.

Free forever. No account needed to start.

“I sit down to study and surface 40 minutes later on YouTube.”
— Every student, the night before an exam

How the grade actually happens

1

Lock yourself in — for real

Strict mode pins your rules the moment the session starts: no unlocking, no mid-session loosening. The only way out is typing END — which ends the whole session and makes you own the choice.

2

Rules that fit tonight's subject

"Organic chemistry exam prep" blocks YouTube and Discord. "Video editing homework" needs YouTube open. Each workspace keeps its own list, so you never fight a rule you set for a different kind of work.

3

Study in real Pomodoro cycles

Built-in 25/50-minute cycles with breaks. During a break the blur lifts so you can breathe, then it snaps back on when the next block starts.

Your rules follow your work

No global list. Each workspace decides what’s off-limits for that work — the same site can be blocked in one and essential in another.

Part of the work

Same site. Different work, different rules. That’s the whole idea.

Strict mode

The strictness you can't negotiate with.

No unlocking, no five-more-minutes. Your rules are pinned at start, so there's nothing to loosen in a weak moment. If you need to bail, you type END — it's the mode built for the night before the exam.

And it’s on your side

Never shamed for slipping

Solidmind is a coach, not a cop. A blurred page names the rule you wrote and offers the way out — never "busted", never a guilt-trip streak counter. Your willpower failed you before; this is on your side.

Private by default

By default Solidmind reads no page content at all — blur compares a page’s domain against rules you wrote.

The optional AI assistant is the only feature that looks at pages. Analyzed on your device by default; nothing is sent anywhere unless you explicitly enable a clearly-labeled cloud feature.

Focus is free. Forever.

Sessions, the timer, full-quality blur — free and unlimited. Pro is for the library you build on top.

Questions, answered honestly

So it reads every page I visit?

No — by default it reads none. A page is blurred only when its domain matches a rule you wrote; there's no page analysis at all unless you opt into the AI assistant, which runs on your device. Analyzed on your device by default; nothing is sent anywhere unless you explicitly enable a clearly-labeled cloud feature.

Isn't this just another blocklist?

It's rules — but scoped to the work, not the browser. One global list rots because no single list fits every task; a workspace's ten rules fit that work. And the lists stay maintained in-flow: right-click any site to block it for the session, and the optional AI assistant can suggest blocks you accept with one tap.

Why does Chrome ask for access to all sites?

The blur overlay has to be able to run on any page your rules might cover. Chrome asks only when you first start a blurring (Standard or Strict) session — install itself carries no scary warning, and Open mode never asks at all. By default Solidmind reads no page content; it only compares domains against your rules.

What if the AI gets it wrong?

It can only mis-suggest, never mis-block. The assistant is opt-in, runs on your device, and its worst failure is a small toast you ignore — enforcement always follows the rules you wrote. It's also tuned to stay quiet rather than guess.

Is it really free?

The core is free forever — unlimited focus sessions, full-quality blur, all three modes. Pro ($4.99/mo, or $35.99/yr) is the depth layer: unlimited workspaces, unlimited rules per workspace, and your full stats history with a weekly report. There's also a 14-day Pro trial, no card required.
